Vishwa Gujarati Bhasha Diwas was celebrated with great enthusiasm at S.V.D.D. School, Ghatkopar (East), Mumbai, on 24th August 2026. The
celebration aimed to honour the richness of the Gujarati language, literature, art and vibrant cultural heritage.
The programme began with an introduction and prayer, followed by a variety of colourful and entertaining performances by the students. The play “Gamdu ane Sheher” highlighted the contrast between village and city life, while the song “Gaam Khovatu Jaay Chhe…” conveyed a meaningful message about preserving our traditional roots and culture.
Students of 5th to 10th Std. presented a wonderful array of cultural performances, including Veshabhusha, Prabhatiya-Bhajan, Dayro, Deshi Garba, Krishna Garba and Krishna Leela. The performances beautifully showcased the richness of Gujarati traditions and the students’ talent and enthusiasm.
The celebration was a memorable blend of language, culture, tradition and creativity. It encouraged students to take pride in their mother tongue and helped them understand the importance of preserving our cultural heritage. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the celebration a grand success.
